Part Time Position
Site Assistant/Classroom Technology Assistant
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at George Mason University (Fairfax Campus)
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI Mason), a non-profit educational organization based at George Mason in Fairfax, VA seeks a part-time hourly Site Assistant/Classroom Technology Assistant. This position supports in-person, hybrid and online classes by providing instructors with technical support to deliver high-quality presentations. Classes are held at the OLLI Mason Fairfax campus, nearby sites and remotely.
Schedule
Flexible schedule; 25+ hours per week for 30 weeks (4 terms), classes are Monday – Thursday, 9am - 4pm.
Compensation
$18/per hour; No benefits.
Responsibilities
- Classroom (online and in-person) preparation including AV equipment.
- Communicating with instructors by email arranging logistics, scheduling, and conducting a practice session with instructors.
- Actively manage Zoom, in-person and hybrid classes with instructors including technology assistance for Zoom and Power Point, troubleshooting, and managing questions.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and solve technical problems.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
- Strong computer skills (PC and Mac).
- Experience with Zoom, Microsoft Word and Power Point, Windows, speakers, microphones, webcams, and projectors.

OLLI Mason is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization affiliated with George Mason University and the national Osher Lifelong Learning network that provides classes, lectures, trips, clubs, social and other activities for over 1000 active learners age 50+. Over 500 college-level courses covering a broad range of subjects are offered each year. Programs are presented in-person at the Fairfax campus, at satellite sites throughout Fairfax County, and online.
